Extendable Belt Conveyor

Belt conveyor for transporting large sheet metal stampings including doors, hoods, trunk lids and roofs from a progressive stamping line in a automobile factory. The conveyor has a pneumatically operated extension that allowed the conveyor to be extended or retracted by 12" to allow for quick die changes. This extension was accomplished by the orientation of the take up rolls and not using springs or other belt take up mechanisms.
